Effective Date: June 17, 2025 

By completing any purchase on Northsocial.ca—including but not limited to digital badges and advertising credits—you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Refund & Return Policy. This policy governs eligibility and conditions for refunds and returns on digital purchases made through the platform. 

Scope of Application 

This policy applies to: 

  • Profile badges purchased through Northsocial.ca 

  • Prepaid advertising credits in business or advertiser accounts 

All products are non-tangible, delivered digitally, and not subject to return under physical goods standards. This policy is structured to comply with consumer protection legislation applicable in all Canadian provinces and territories, as well as federal law under Canada’s Competition Act and PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act). 

General Refund Policy 

Refunds are offered solely at Northsocial.ca’s discretion and will be granted only in the following cases: 

  • Technical failure on the platform preventing delivery or proper function 

  • Billing errors, including duplicate charges 

  • Confirmed fraud or unauthorized use of the payment method 

Refunds will not be granted for: 

  • Change of mind or buyer’s remorse 

  • Subjective dissatisfaction with a badge or ad campaign 

  • Performance outcomes of ad campaigns where platform services functioned as intended 

Badges (Digital Recognition Items) 

Badges purchased on Northsocial.ca are symbolic, non-functional acknowledgements of support. They hold no monetary value and are not resellable or transferable. 

Refunds for badge purchases will be considered only if: 

  • The badge fails to appear or function due to a platform-side error 

  • Duplicate charges occurred 

  • Payment was made fraudulently or without authorization 

Requests must be submitted within 14 calendar days of purchase. 

Advertising Credits 

Advertising credits are prepaid deposits for the use of business advertising features on Northsocial.ca. 

Refunds may be issued only if: 

  • The credits are entirely unused 

  • A technical malfunction or billing error is confirmed 

Refunds are not available for: 

  • Credits that have been applied or spent 

  • Campaign dissatisfaction based on audience performance, reach, or content strategy 

All requests must be submitted within 14 calendar days of the transaction date. 

Refund Request Process 

To request a refund: 

  • Include account details, date of transaction, and a full description of the issue 

  • Submit your request within 14 calendar days of purchase 

Refund determinations will be made within 7 business days. We may request additional verification before processing any refund. 

Review, Abuse Prevention, and Enforcement 

Northsocial.ca reserves the right to: 

  • Review refund claims individually 

  • Deny refunds that do not meet policy criteria 

  • Suspend or restrict future purchases from accounts with repeated or abusive refund requests 

This policy may be updated at any time. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes agreement to the revised policy. 

Legal Framework and Interpretation 

This policy is designed to comply with applicable Canadian federal and provincial consumer protection laws. Where a provincial law provides stronger protections for digital consumers, Northsocial.ca will adhere to those obligations. 

This policy is governed by the laws of Canada and will be interpreted in accordance with Canadian contract and consumer protection principles. 

Consent and Binding Effect 

By completing a transaction on Northsocial.ca, you: 

  • Confirm that you have read and understood this policy 

  • Accept its terms as a binding condition of your purchase 

  • Waive any claim to refund outside of the conditions stated herein
